UNDAUNTED BY CHALLENGES
"There was in the days of Herod, the king of Judaea, a certain priest named Zacharias, of the course of Abia: and his wife was of the daughters of Aaron, and her name was Elisabeth. And they were both righteous before God, walking in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord blameless. And they had no child, because that Elisabeth was barren, and they both were now well stricken in years."
- Luke 1:5-7 (KJV)
MEDITATIONS
Zacharias and Elisabeth were perfect examples of a Couple who did not allow their personal challenges affect their relationship with God and with each other. Challenges are facts and parts of life; they are meant to be conquered. Zacharias did not consider a divorce for Elisabeth's barrenness; they grew old together serving the Lord faithfully. Whatever challenge you are confronted with in your relationships, career, family, health, etc, may just be a test of your faith in God. Don't fail the test. Love the Lord at all times and in all situations.
The righteous may suffer some temporary afflictions. It is error to think that only sinners do get hit by afflictions. Zacharias and Elisabeth were blameless in all the ordinances of God. Their childlessness was not the result of personal sins. One thing is sure though; the righteous will always out live their challenges. Every affliction in your life is a testimony in the making.
"Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the Lord delivereth him out of them all."
Psalm 34:19 (KJV)
"For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory;"
2 Corinthians 4:17 (KJV)
Every affliction in your life is processing a glorious testimony for you.
(To be continued).
